Why we built it
Self-hosting is great. Listening to it shouldn't be work.
Most self-hosters end up with music in more than one place: a Navidrome for the main library, Plex for the family, a share on the NAS for everything else. Every app speaks to one of them. Playwave speaks to all of them, and then gets out of the way so you can just press play.
Open the app and Home already has something to play: what you listened to last, what you added this week, mixes built from your own taste and the albums you keep coming back to. One tap on a cover starts it. No account, no catalogue, no ads.

Frequently asked
Does Playwave have its own music catalogue?
No. Playwave plays music you already own, from servers and folders you run: Navidrome, Jellyfin, Plex, Emby, any Subsonic-compatible server, WebDAV, DLNA and folders in the Files app. There is no streaming catalogue and no account.
Can I use more than one server at the same time?
Yes, with Pro. Playwave merges every source into one library: the same album on two servers shows up once, search covers all of them, and each source shows whether it is online.
Does it work away from home?
Yes, if your server is reachable away from home, for example through Tailscale, a reverse proxy or your provider's remote access. With Pro you can also download albums and playlists to listen offline.
Is there a free version?
Yes. Free connects one source and includes the whole player: queue, gapless playback, crossfade, equalizer, sleep timer, widgets and lock-screen controls. Pro adds more sources, downloads, CarPlay, synced lyrics and Last.fm.
How much is Pro?
$4.99 a year with a 14-day free trial, or $11.99 once for lifetime access. Prices are shown in your local currency in the App Store.
Where are my passwords stored?
In the iPhone Keychain, on your device. Playwave talks to your servers directly; your music and logins never pass through us.
