Playwave

Terms

Deliberately short. Nothing here takes away the consumer rights you have where you live.

Updated 8 October 2026. These cover Playwave, made by The Next Beacon. Using the app means you're fine with them.

What you get

You can install and use Playwave on devices you own. The app, its code, its design and its name stay ours. Playwave plays music you have the right to listen to from servers and folders you control; what's on them is your responsibility.

What you can't do

Free and Pro

Free connects one music source and includes the full player. Pro adds more sources, offline downloads, CarPlay, synced lyrics and Last.fm.

Pro yearly and the free trial

Pro yearly is an auto-renewing subscription. New subscribers get a 14-day free trial. Your Apple Account is charged when the trial ends and then once a year, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions. One trial per Apple Account; Apple decides eligibility.

Pro lifetime

A one-time purchase that keeps Pro on the Apple Account that bought it, including on new phones (use Restore Purchases). It supports Family Sharing.

Apple takes the money, not us. The price the App Store shows you, tax included where it applies, is the price.

Refunds

Apple handles refunds under its rules at reportaproblem.apple.com, and we can't issue them ourselves. If Apple says no and you think the app is at fault, mail us anyway. None of this affects a statutory right to a refund where you live.

Changes

We'll keep improving Playwave. If an update ever takes away something you paid for, we'll say so first.

Liability

The app comes as it is. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for knock-on losses from using it, and the most we can owe you is what you paid in the last twelve months. Some countries don't allow that; if yours doesn't, it doesn't apply to you, and nothing here covers us for death, injury or fraud.

Which law

Dutch law. If you're a consumer you keep the mandatory protections of your own country and can bring a case there.
